Hear from Kristin's Experience
1) What was your team experiencing that made you invest in DISC?
My team was experiencing a disconnect amongst each other and as a team based negative experiences & interactions with each other over the years that had not been resolved. Moreover, these feelings festered over time & created walls because they really didn't know each other and how to work as a team.
I chose to use the DISC workshop to help my team to identify their personality type & learn strategies on how to communicate effectively with their fellow teammates to break down those walls. I also wanted to dig deep to personally get to know my team and begin the rebuilding process for the culture on my wing.
2) How engaging was the workshop? Were there any high points that really stood out during the presentation?
The DISC workshop lead by facilitator Chanavia Patterson was dynamic! The workshop was presented in a way that was informative and interactive. She also added her own twist in the presentation from her own personal experiences which made it even more relatable.
The first highlight was seeing how the DISC assessment had almost the exact correlation to each of my team's own personality traits. A lot of them said, "Yes that's me!"
The second highlight was putting some of the tips learned in the action after the workshop. I could hear my team referring to a person's personality trait/letter in conversation as well. It was eye opening for everyone to see how knowing each person's personality trait can cause you to interact with a person with more compassion and understanding.
3) How did the DISC workshop impact you as a leader?
The DISC workshop impacted me as a school leader in how I crafted conversations with each individual on my team to effectively communicate with them. It also helped me to navigate their strengths and weaknesses. Overall, it helped me to be more relational and intentional in my approach in how to meet our team goals.
4) Would you recommend this workshop to other schools that are rebuilding their climate and culture? If so, what can they expect?
I would highly recommend this workshop for other school buildings to rebuild their climate and culture. I strongly believe the more intentional you are in getting to know your team and helping them to see who you are build that trust needed for a healthy working environment.
You can expect a highly engaging, hands-on, and practical approach from a highly qualified, sought after expert in the field of education. You won't be disappointed! Chanavia will leave you on the edge of your seats waiting for the next workshop.

DISC allows you to unlock your potential through a better understanding of the Law of Awareness.
